There are many people complaining about the prohibitive prices that manufacturers place next to their digital cameras, but maybe they do not know about the possibility of buying a refurbished model. Refurbished digital cameras cost less than their shiny and new counterparts, but they are basically the same thing. If your mind is set on a certain model, you can always search for a refurbished version, as you will end up paying less, and scoring a really good deal.
If you are lucky enough, you may get your hands on a model that did not have many problems, others than of esthetic nature, like fine scratches. With the equipment in good working order, you will only buy the same thing, but only for a portion of the price.
