Bear Mace
The other day, while taking my usual walk into the forest in my home state of Alaska, I encountered a very big bear.
As usual, I just froze and hoped the beast would lose interest and go on her way.
Sorry to say, it was a female with cubs close at hand and I happened to be in between them.
I would never hurt an animal on purpose, so I hoped the encounter would end. It didn’t and she started to come towards me. I used my bear mace and other than her getting upset and running away, there was no damage.
