Moderate Price Increases Expected For This Year

With more new constructions expected to be become available this year and next year, we may be able to put a lid on price increases across Canada. With more inventory available, the pressure for housing will cool and prices should stabilize. The CMHC is expected prices to remain stable this year and to increase slightly in 2011. The real estate market is now a sellers’ market once again after being a buyers’ market for a few months last year. The lack of listings is enticing buyers to look at new constructions. With new homes expected to come on the market over the next year, we should be in a good position to avoid a real estate bubble.
