When Not to File for a Patent

When a person wants to file for a patent, they must have an invention that meets or exceeds the standards of the United Stated Patent and Trademark Office. These standards are very rigid, and are hard to remember as well. From the first conception of an invention to the final stages of production, the process is very difficult to navigate. The process is also very stressful, which is why many people won’t actually file for the patent. Another reason not to file would be if you know your invention is not too different than another one. If it is almost the same, the US P&T office will not allow a patent, or even the patent pending title.
