Just Like the Automobile

Acceleration speed is to the human body just like punching the gas is to the automobile.  Jack rabbit starts strain the body, or the engine burning up fuel and wasting precious time and energy.  Equal pressure in a steady forward motions is paramount to achieving optimal speed.  Jack rabbit starts necessitate jerk-necked stops which strain the muscles or the brake system thereby adding unnecessary wear and tear on vital organs, muscles, tissues and ligaments.  To achieve the ability for equal pressure in a steady forward motion, try training running up a short, gently sloping hill to learn about optimal acceleration speed.  All of this is relative to the individual athlete and the needs of their particular sport.
